Robert Cardillo is an accomplished executive with 40 years of extensive senior management experience in both the public and private sector. He served as Disaster Recovery Coordinator for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) representing the Southeast region. He also served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development where he coordinated HUD’s federal disaster response activities in Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina. Mr. Cardillo previously served as HUD’s Director of Community Planning and Development in New York City where he managed the federal disaster monies that aided the recovery of Lower Manhattan following the 9/11 attacks. Prior to serving in the Federal Government, Cardillo worked for Mayor Rudolph Giuliani managing New York City’s public affairs activities for the NYCOTB Corporation. He is also a former Director and Regional Director of the New York State Power Authority and the New York State Empire State Development Corporation. Cardillo was CEO/President of International Marking Group INC a Manufacturing company selling high tech marking equipment to the aerospace and automotive industry internationally. He also was President of Columbia Place Development Corporation a commercial Real-estate development company in Upstate NY. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cardillo worked on Capitol Hill beginning in 1973 as Legislative Assistant to Congressman Donald J. Mitchell.
In addition to his business and government accomplishments, Mr. Cardillo is an academic. He brings his experience to the classrooms as an adjunct professor at Utica College and Mohawk Valley Community College where he teaches Political Science, Economics & Business. He also is a Faculty Advisor at Georgetown University for the Semester in Washington Program.
Mr. Cardillo received his Juris Doctorate JD from the University of West Los Angeles and received his undergraduate Degree in Urban Affairs & Political Science from Syracuse University. He also studied at George Washington University participating in a Legislative Policy Program.
He currently serves as the Chairman and CEO of the Cardinal Center LLC, a government affairs and public policy consulting firm.
